Envisioning My Goals for Third Quarter

Envisioning My Goals for Third Quarter

The end of my creative portfolio is around the corner for the third quarter. I want to do well on my final drafts especially on my double-page spread because I feel that I've downgraded as time progressed. My final revisions on my double page spread is due about 3-4 days, so it is wise to start planning out and being extra strict on my critiques. I also want to do well on my table of contents page and just go over anything that makes it correlate with my magazine theme. The final look for my magazine should be a nostalgic theme that also makes people relate to its contents and gain insight from remembering the past.

For my double-page spread, I'd like to make the page look more visually appealing as I filled it up with photos and the required columns of text. However, the page still looks dull, so I may experiment with the color shading but not too much where the color scheme is disjointed. I would love to implement techniques from pro magazines where they add a top 10 list, q&a, fun fact. By using that approach, I could fill up any white space. It may greatly benefit me if I were to reread any unnecessary content and space out my text, so that it is not too overwhelming to read.

The rest of my magazine does not have much tweaking to do. My cover already received a high score from my teacher, but it may benefit me if I were to look back on it and scan through/delete anything else to keep that grade. I may implement some page numbers or cut some unnecessarily long widow words. As for my table of contents, the grade was relatively high. Unfortunately, it did not tell the theme/story at first glance which is why I hope by playing around and using what I've seen: it'll look
professional.  Similarly to my double-page, the color scheme is also a big part of my contents and I need to figure out which color is the most appealing.

I believe my faults come from the lack of creativity with organizing/centering the words and images on my double-page spread or my table of contents. Many peers have taken an innovative approach relating to the theme which inspires me. As a result, I want to receive an A again for this quarter and if I achieve that goal, it will assure me of the skills of design.
