I Was Influenced by GOOD OLD DAYS 

This magazine, GOOD OLD DAYS, is a 1964 magazine that focuses on aspects that'll trigger nostalgia. To my surprise, this magazine was exactly what I pictured for my magazine. Topics in this magazine include what hairstyles used to be popular, favorite autumn activities, common back to school memories, and etc. In addition, I was especially intrigued by the pictures and subheadings used in the GOOD OLD DAYS. The visuals weren't extremely generalized to the older generations and thus almost everyone can relate. 

As I was searching for pictures in relation to my second blog, this magazine was the apple of my eye. I never knew that the GOOD OLD DAYS existed and I'm pretty glad that it does. Not only will it give me inspiration on how I can improve my theme: it will also be a guide for me to change up how I will plan out my portfolio, so that my portfolio isn't too similar to this magazine. The big factor I've noticed is that the GOOD OLD DAYS publication discusses a variety of nostalgic things that every person must have grown up with. However, it will also go into depth about animals, songs, items in a store, toys, etc. This makes sense as the GOOD OLD DAYS magazine is from Annie's publication. Annie is a company that includes magazines, kits, and so much more that are catered to nostalgia and the arts/décor aspect. 

Primarily, what I will want to cover in my magazine is the opposite of inanimate memories. Examples of this may be getting your first pet, experiences on Christmas or Thanksgiving, how was it like at school, etc. I truly want to give credit to this magazine because it shows that other people created this magazine wanted to appeal to those who miss their younger lives. Another technique that I've noticed in the GOOD OLD DAYS is that it does not criticize the newer generation and acknowledges the differences between old and new. Again, I would like to make my magazine similar to the GOOD OLD DAYS as it feels timeless and not generally catered to a specific age range. Therefore, this magazine allures the conclusion of my magazine theme in terms of its images and overall prolific theme.
